Jeffrey’s Hamburgers
Jeffrey’s claims to be “Bay Area’s Burgers”. I think not…
While they have a reasonable selection of burgers, I do not find them particularly “mind blowing”. They have all the usual ones - Bacon, Mushroom, Avocado, etc. I’ve had their turkey burger and enjoyed it but found it somewhat bland.
The main thing I dislike is that this place is more of a DIY in the form of a restaurant. They have a produce bar which to me signals a red flag. They let the produce sit out all day long? And the mayo? Do they WANT me to get food poisoning?
I usually order something safe, like a grilled cheese. Their signature salad is pretty good although I have had unripe melon placed on my dish before.
I guess if you have a cast iron stomach and are craving a burger in San Mateo, this is your option.
For me, I’d rather go to Chili’s or The Counter for a good burger.
